In her PhD thesis, Zoetanya Zujon develops a comprehensive analysis, based on the existing literature, of the rights usually connected to the idea of technological citizenship, with special reference to the new information technologies.
Some of them deserve particular attention, such as:
- The right to technically access technologies, such as internet, perceived as fundamental for expressing personal orientations and attitudes
- The right to access relevant knowledge, information and education related to science and technology;
- The right to participate in political dynamics connected to science and technology
- The right to privacy and security
- The right to expression, including the right to propagate a cultural identity, lifestyle, and creativity
- The right to be free from commercial manipulation.
